I took a break from studying!!! I kind of feel bad about it, but at the same time, I feel like I needed it. My cousins came here & so I had to accommodate them. I also uploaded 2 study-related videos on my Youtube channel. Since CETs review is all that I do during the quarantine, I decided to focus my content on studying vlogs.

The other day, I was thinking if I should buy The Maroon Bluebook or the Tome of Knowledge by The UPCAT Review. I decided to buy the latter because I felt like I needed a book of summarization more than a work book. I have lots of work books already, hehe.

The site for the Bridge English class at UP Open University will be available tomorrow by 7pm. I’m not sure what to expect, but I’m hoping it will help me improve my skills! πŸ™‚

June 17, 2020 – Day 60

I wasn’t able to review as much today because I had to help my mom write some of her employment requirements. It was tiring!! HAHAHA I took a nap after I finished all of them. For some reason, I felt worn out after I did that. Too much paper work, I guess?

I did something new today! I took grammar checks for Filipino & English. Also took Reading Comprehesion test & logical reasoning test. I’ll start doing this everyday 😊

I’m still waiting for UPOU’s announcement on how I will be able to access the bridging class. Maybe it’s still on process? IDK. But here’s a poster of it if you’re wondering 😊))) CREDITS TO UPOU:

I don’t review as much as I do back in April, but I’m happy I’m still making progress. I’ll add up to my visual aids soon (I’m close to mastering the visual aids I posted at my door).

One of the best news for today is that I signed up for an English & Mathematics bridging course in University of the Philippines – Open University. It will start on July 1! The best part about it is it’s free. :>

May 15, 2020 – Day 39

I took 3 days break because I felt unfocused. Forcing myself to review would just burn me out, so I decided to find something that will motivate me. One of the things that cheer me up the most is when I’m watching Korean drama series. I finished Itaewon Class earlier, and it’s now my favorite kdrama of all time along with Goblin.

The boss & the manager (main characters) of the drama portrayed strong will to succeed. Regardless of the obstacles that came their way, their goal & principle did not change. Personally, I think that’s few of the things I’ve been missing since May started. I lost track of my goal because I felt like I was working hard for nothing. Itaewon Class taught me to believe even when it feels like there’s nothing ahead. We must work hard not because of what we can see, but of what we believe we can do.

I’m listening to Start by Gaho (Itaewon Class OST),,, it makes me feel better. I’ll go back to reviewing now. πŸ˜€

May 9, 2020 – Day 36

I wasn’t able to study as much today because I had to sleep early. I slept at my parents’ room,,, you know what goes down from there AHHAHAHA. Anyway, I found projectile motion easy since I was able to study free fall first. The formulae used were just derived from free fall. Took me 2 hours to answer problem sets for projectile motion.

To make better use of time before we sleep, I allotted an hour to sharpen my vocabulary skills. Knudge.me really helps me a lot with comprehension & vocabulary. I’m kind of thinking if I should avail the premium account.

I’ll start early for the next review session so that I can make up for the time I should’ve been reviewing.

May 8, 2020 – Day 35

I started late, but I was able to review a lot. Learned new words today and took few vocabulary tests. I’m finally having progress with it. Though I’m still having a hard time in reading comprehension. I do well with nonacademic texts, but I get caught up with excerpts from academic texts. Before I started reviewing for Physics, I was really unmotivated ANDDD SUPER INTIMIDATED. I had to break my fear barrier,,, as I’ve mentioned before, Physics is not one of my favorite subjects, so I don’t know much about it.

Relative velocity is harder in two dimension word problems,, took a bit of time to understand it. I UNEXPECTEDLY ENJOYED solving free fall problems. I was able to solve 4 different scenarios of free fall. All in all, I solved 21 word problems. WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT I’D ENJOY IT? HAHAHAHAH.

Anyway, I plan to study about projectile, circular, and relative motion tomorrow. If I can finish more than my target, I’ll be glad.

The King: Eternal Monarch’s episode 7 was released today! I’ll watch it before I sleep (kind of serves as my reward for doing a great job today).

May 5, 2020 – Day 33

I watched Goblin during my break,,, AND I DID NOT REGRET IT!! It was very worth it,, why did it took me long to watch it? Pure perfection it was!!!! ❀ I thought I wouldn’t love another KDrama as much as I did with Descendants of the Sun,, but here I am taking it back. Goblin’s my all-time favorite KDrama. It has every touch of genre in it, and the message of the drama varies and are all deep. WOW. The plot’s well knitted as well,, I think I won’t be able to move on from Goblin so fast.

Anyway, I’ll be back on reviewing today. Wish me best HUHUHuhUE

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 31

April 30, 2020 – Day 31

I thought 2 days would be enough for summarizing Chemistry, turns out, it’s not. I’ll still continue writing but I’ll do it during the morning so that in the afternoon I can review Physics. To prevent building up of notes, I’ll just be taking notes while reviewing Physics in a bond paper. I’ll just paste them down on my A4 record book once I finish writing Chemistry.

I forgot to mention that yesterday, I was kind of shocked that I had an average of 90% in vocabulary for 5 online vocabulary tests (wasn’t expecting it to be that high). But yeah, I’m learning new words every day. Though slow, it’s still progress. I’ve also been watching Biology videos on Youtube (Amoeba Sisters),,, it’s fascinating because they use cute drawings to explain the concept better.

April 28, 2020 – Day 29

9:59 PM – I’M FINALLY DONE WITH ACID-BASE EQUILIBRIA AND SALT EQUILIBRIA! YAY HUHUHU!! ❀ My mind’s already exhausted with all the calculations I’m trying to understand all day. I don’t know if I can finish Electrochemistry today, but I hope I can. If I can, I’ll be able to make Chem1 & 2 summary tomorrow.

1:45 AM – I’m ending today’s review session with great satisfaction. Turns out, I enjoyed Electrochemistry better than Acid-Base and Salt Equilibria. I’m only left with 3 topics of Electrochemistry (Nernst Equation, Corrosion, Electrolysis) & I’M OFFICIALLY DONE WITH CHEMISTRY!!!! (Just thinking of it makes me feel great HAHAHA). Keep up the study pace, self! Still got a long way to go,,, I guess I’ll just have to wake up at 6 am tomorrow so I can finish Chemistry early & proceed to writing chemistry key points. If I can finish both earlier, I’ll proceed with Physics right away. Though I can take a break, I choose not to YET. I’ll take an unexpected break once I REALLY FEEL EXHAUSTED AND OUT OF TRACK. I don’t feel that way at the moment so no break for the meantime, self.

April 27, 2020 – Day 28

Before I went to sleep last night, I took the time to find a notebook I can write on to summarize every subject I review. While doing so, I came across my module from a review center and tried to answer Chemistry questions. I was discouraged beforehand because I feel like I’m studying slower than I expected, but I later realized that it was all worth it. I answered the Chemistry questions with ease. I now feel motivated once again.

I was scrolling on Twitter today and guess what? I read a tweet about a student who’s been studying daily since April started. It makes me motivated to study more knowing that a lot of CETs takers utilize this time (ECQ) to review. I don’t know, but I have a feeling that this CETs season will have a tighter competition since we have a lot of time to review. Just thinking of it makes me want to review more.

I have good progress for today. I’m picking up speed on reviewing topics. I started  the day with a bit of English basics then proceeded to solutions (colligative properties). I was able to finish Chemical Kinetics and Chemical Equilibrium for today. I hope I can keep this study pace for the next review days to come.

Study time: 18:12.62

8:30 PM – I’m finally done with Gibbs Free Energy & let me tell you what, I DIDN’T UNDERSTAND IT AS MUCH HAHAHA. The concepts are still new to me, so it will definitely take some time before I’ll be able to really understand and apply it. Will work on that after summer. June and July are the months I’m planning to answer my practice tests and workbooks. For the meantime, I’ll have to learn by heart the concepts and formulas.

April 24, 2020 – Day 26

7:30 PM – I started my review session by taking 2 online grammar tests online. I’ll be reviewing English lessons starting tomorrow before diving into Chemistry. I just realized that I can maximize my time better if I take English online tests every now and then. Apart from the fact that it only takes a few minutes, it can also sharpen my master towards applying grammar rules.

8:36 PM – Currently taking practice problems on formation reaction of compounds. I just realized one effective way to kill 2 birds with the same stone. While I’m writing formation reaction equations per compound, I actually find myself naming the compound I’m working on. It helps to refresh the rules of compound nomenclature.

Total study time: 2 hours

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 25

April 23, 2020 – Day 25

1 PM – Slept late last night & woke up to the sound of blazing fire and the smell of smoke. There was a growing fire heading towards the village we live in. It’s quite far from our house, but today’s weather is hot and windy. Grasses are all over empty lots as well, so it contributes to spreading the fire to a much larger space. It went on for about 30-45 minutes before it was put out.

3 PM – I’m here at my parents’ room laying around. I still can’t feel the urge to review, but I tried. I was able to study a few topics from Intermolecular forces (small step but I consider it as a good starting point).

1 AM – I made a good progress tonight, YAY!! Done with intermolecular forces and almost finished with thermochemistry/thermodynamics. I just 2 lessons left for that chapter, and all I have to do is practice word problems so that I can apply the concepts learned. I was also able to take a short vocabulary builder.

Took a fun personality test (16 Personalities) during the afternoon, and this was the result:

April 21, 2020 – Day 24

I finished General Chemistry 1 today! YAY!!! Since CETs are all about the basics, I’ll just scroll through the topics of GenChem2 as fast and as effective as I can. I won’t study it as much as I did in GenChem1. If I can, I hope to finish it in 2 days so I can move with studying Physics.

It’s kind of exhausting to review Chem & Physics successively but this is the way I know to fill in the knowledge gaps I have with these branches of Science, specially Physics. I never really put that much attention into Physics when I was in JHS because I like Chemistry more.

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 21

April 17, 2020 – Day 21

Started the day wrong,, was initially making index card reviewers starting from the first lesson of chemistry up to the latest one. DON’T GET ME WRONG: there’s nothing wrong with making a reviewer, but I realized after 3 HOURS of doing it that it was just an excuse of mine to get off of reviewing. Though hard, I pushed myself to stop writing & proceeded to reviewing right away.

Since I started my review session the wrong way, I was motivated to focus and finish at least 2 of my target lessons for the day. Fortunately, I was able to finish it. I devised a schedule plan which is inspired by a senior now studying in UP. I don’t know her personally, but she still entertains questions regarding CETs so I took the chance. Starting tomorrow, I’ll do my best to follow this schedule:

So far,,, this is the progress I made since I started reviewing:

7:18 PM – I’m finally done with the electronic structure of atoms! YAY!!! The Periodic table and its trends are the next topics I’ll be reviewing after I eat dinner. So far, I was able to recall gas laws and finish atom structure. (I can’t wait to finish Chemistry 1 & 2,,, I’M SO OVER IT! HAHAHA)

I get stressed just by seeing how much I have to study left for Chemistry. I mean, this is only C H E M I S T R Y. I still have other branches of Science to review…. CETs review is no joke. Literally.

Study time: 03:18:51.62

10 PM – I’m slowly feeling my focus getting back on its track,,, (THANK GOD!! Been watching study videos on Youtube & reading threads about CETs just to hype myself up to review HAHAHA). It’s all worth it though, so no regrets in taking the time to surf the net (OOPS). Anyway, I’m done reviewing for today. I can review more if I want to, but I choose not to. I have to maintain a good sleeping routine (since I’m a heavy sleeper, it’s harder for me to switch back to a normal sleeping routine).

SUDDEN REALIZATION: I should train my mind and my body to study at a spot where the only thing I do is to study. I shouldn’t do it on my bed, or at our patio. I must study at my study table. (I observed myself today and I came to a conclusion that I’m more focused and productive when I’m at my usual spot of work).

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 19

April 15, 2020 – Day 19

10:24 AM – I took a day off,, wasn’t really feeling it yesterday. Anyway, I started today’s review session through taking vocabulary tests on Magoosh GRE. Just took two levels of tests so I can move on with Gas laws.

Study time: 01:50:24.79

12:36 PM – I’ll take 3-hours nap to refresh my mind. Be back later!

5:10 PM – ANDDDD I’M BACK! Feeling better! πŸ˜€

Study time: 03:04:27.11

6:26 PM – Almost done with Gas laws! YAY!! I only have to recall Dalton’s Partial Pressure & Graham’s Law of Effusion then I’m ready to go & recall the electronic structure of atoms. I’m also hoping to finish electronic structure & periodicity today.

10:24 PM – I was able to finish Gas laws and started a bit of electronic structure of the atoms. Wasn’t able to do my target for today, but it’s okay. Slow progress is still progress…

I joined a group chat on Telegram today. The CETs takers this year gathered there to voice out their thoughts and questions. As of what I can remember, there are already 500+ members in that group chat,,, I wanted to stay and talk to them but I also realized that it’s best if I keep my review and CETs matters to myself. It’s best if I don’t compare my performance to them as we all have different phases of learning as well as foundation. Although I can be outgoing, I work best if I study alone. It also keeps me focused on my progress better.

Total study time: 04:09:14.79

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 18

April 13, 2020 – Day 18

There’s not much to update today except that I was able to study quite well, but I’m feeling a bit tired and unmotivated. I’ve been reviewing straight for the past 17 days and I can say that I reviewed a lot. I focused solely on Chemistry for the last 2 weeks and it wasn’t a joke. I’m solving word problems every day and been calculating without a calculator. I think I need a rest? But I kind of feel bad when I think about taking a break.

Anyway, I was able to finish Stoichiometry tonight. I won’t dive in too much in Gas Laws tomorrow as out of all the topics in Chemistry, it was what I mastered the most during our GenChem1 classes. I’m planning to finish 3 chapters tomorrow so that I can move on with topics I’m not yet familiar with. If I can push the 3 chapters tomorrow, I only have 11 chapters left to study. I’m so over you, Chem! hahaha!

Total study time: 04:04:37.33

WRAP UP: Molarity word problems, Molality word problems, Dilution word problems, and Normality & Equivalent Weight For Acid Base Reactions

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 17

April 12, 2020 – Day 17

The hard time I went through last night was worth it! I was able to make a starting point to change my messed up body clock. YEY!!! Went to sleep at 10 PM and woke up at 4am, but to get 8 hours of sleep I extended my until 6 am.

9:30 AM – For a change, I decided to study at our patio. The nature helps in maintaining my focus,,,

12:22 PM – Already ate my lunch & I’m back at studying again. Since I’ve started good today, I want to try the Pomodoro technique. Been seeing it a lot lately, and it’s often coined as an effective technique to be productive. Will see how it works for me πŸ˜‰

12:44 PM – Made my own milk tea again!! As usual, it’s okinawa flavor πŸ˜€ I like the milk tea I made today better than yesterday’s. It has more taste to it (maybe because I’m feeling better today or maybe not HAHAHA).

2:37 PM – I’m done with limiting and excess reagent word problems. I’ll be taking a break to take a bath,,, After so, I’ll be answering a few word problems which involve theoretical yield, percent yield, error, limiting reagent, and excess reagent.

5:46 PM – I’m back in my bedroom since it’s starting to get dark outside. I’m trying a new place to study inside my bedroom (it’s more comfy than in my study table).

Total study time: 5 hours

WRAP UP: Limiting Reactant problems, Excess Reactant problems, Theoretical, Actual, Percent Yield, Percent Error, Molar ratio problems, Molarity word problems

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 16

April 11, 2020 – Day 16

12:40 PM – I’ll be starting early today. I don’t feel like it, but gotta stay focused or else I might lose the momentum. To start off, I’ll be taking problem sets from North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale ISD 622.

Extra effort to motivate myself to review: made my own okinawa milk tea! ❀

5:21 PM – Still working on stoichiometry problem sets but I’ll take a short break to take a bath. It’s so hoOOoOOOot here in the Philippines,,, I need to be strict with myself and finish Stoichiometry and Gas laws today. Been delaying them for 2 days now & it’s causing a delay…

6:31 PM – I’m back at studying,,, I’m fighting off the urge to sleep right now. 3 days are enough for me to know that it won’t end good. I need to fix my body clock, so I should be able to overcome this.

8:23 PM – I’m still fighting off my drowsiness, but I think I’m doing good as I am still awake at this hour (same time yesterday, I am already asleep). Anyway, I’m done with understanding the concept of theoretical and percent yield. I’ll now move on to applying them in word problems.

9:36 PM – This is the right time to sleep (so I can HOPEFULLY fix my broken body clock). I’ll be ending my review session at this hour,,, kind of sad because I wasn’t able to cover as much in today’s review but it’s okay. Will just cover a lot for the next few days. Right now, I really need to rest.

April 10, 2020 – Day 15

2:30 PM – I started with what I left off yesterday which is a bit of acids and bases. I’m already studying for 20:18.14, and glad to say I finally finished it. April’s bringing in that very high temperature that even with electric fans and aircons, it still feels hot. I’ll take a bath before proceeding to another topic. BTW, I wasn’t able to wake up on time yesterday so I wasn’t able to get on with gas laws :<<< a bit of a setback there but it’s fine, self. You got this!

Study time: 01:18:47.67

Ever since the community quarantine started, my body’s been used to sleeping at 5 pm. So I guess I’ll take the chance to take a nap (I can’t take it; my eyes feel tired and sleepy).

NAP UPDATE: Again, I wasn’t able to wake up on time. Actually woke up at 12 am ;((( HAHHAHAHA anyway, I’ll still proceed with reviewing. Ever since I started reviewing, it has felt like a routine. I feel bad when I start thinking of skipping a day to review.

It’s funny how my groupmates and I were working hard on editing our research paper and now, I’m just using our research paper drafts as my scratch paper for CETs review. I still have a lot, btw. πŸ˜‰ HAHAHAHAH

Total study time: 02:52:32.62

Been observing myself and came up with a realization: I’m losing my motivation as my review days add up. I still want to pass my CETs, but I think I need a re-motivation session to bring back my enthusiasm in reviewing. I’m not doing well for the past 2 days because my focus has been diverted, so I need to regain that.

The picture above shows the lessons I was able to review since I started CETs session last March. I still have a lot to cover though,,, Originally, I was planning to finish Chemistry for one week BUT due to lesson loads, and missed lessons in the curriculum, I’ll be extending another week for chem. After so, I’ll be taking Chem problem sets then move on with General Physics 1 & 2. Since Biology, Earth Science, and Astronomy are more on terms, I’ll be reviewing them later.

WRAP UP: Acid Base Neutralization Reactions & Net Ionic Equations, Mass relationship in chemical reactions, and Balancing Chemical equations

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 14

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 14

April 9, 2020 – Day 14

2:45 PM – Since I’ve been off schedule for the past 2 days, I’ll be starting earlier than usual today. I hope to finish chemical reactions so that I can move on with gas laws. After so, I’ll proceed with writing chapter summary and transfer them to a manila paper.

3:47 PM – I’m done with solubility and concentration. Feeling a bit drowsy,,, my body is used to sleeping at this hour since community quarantine started. Gotta fight off this feeling so I can fix my messed up body clock (it’s honestly giving me a hard time to focus).

Study time: 01:04:32.33

I’m only 6 minutes in, but I can’t stand the drowsiness already. I guess I’ll take a nap to ease this feeling. I hope I can get up on time, though. I usually just turn off the alarm clock and go back to sleeping. NOT TODAY, SELF. PLEASE :<

Study time: 04:27:12.15

WRAP UP: Solubility & Concentration, Solubility curves, acids & bases

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 13

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 13

April 8, 2020 β€” Day 13

172 days before CETs season!! ο₯³ο’―✨

7 AM: I wasn’t able to review yesterday because I fell asleep early. I woke up around 9 pm again, so I decided to take the day off and just double the coverage for today. I started the day by drinking milk (yey!) and by answering a refresher worksheet about redox reactions. The next topic that I’ll study would be about half reactions and balancing reactions. After so, I’ll move on with neutralization reaction and precipitation reaction. I hope to finish all by noon so I can move to another topic.

4 PM: I’m halfway done with balancing redox reactions under acidic and basic condition. (I’m starting to feel sleepy, oh no! ο˜‚)

I’m done with balancing redox reactions so I’m gonna take a short break. I’ll take a bath again because I’m feeling sleepy and it’s sooOOooOO hot. Summer’s really arriving,,,

Study time: 03:42:40.41

I didn’t expect chemical reactions to be this broad. When it was taught to us during 11th grade, all I knew was the four basic types of chemical reactions. Anyway, I’ll be ending today’s review session once I finish concentration and solubility. My mind needs to rest.

Study time: 08:03:46.77

So far, today’s the longest study I have ever done. I’ll try to study beyond those hours since community quarantine has been extended and apart from doing household chores, reviewing is one way to be productive. I should maximize the time I have to review, who knows if I can have one once another academic year starts (I’m expecting it to be harder since I’m a graduating student).

WRAP UP: oxidizing agents & reducing agents, balancing redox reaction: neutral, acidic, & basic solution, redox reaction: half reaction, precipitation reactions & net ionic equation, solubility rules for double displacement, solutions: saturated, unsaturated & supersaturated, concentration & solubility

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 12

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 12

April 6, 2020 β€” Day 12

174 days before CETs season!!

I woke up early today so I took the opportunity to start the day properly. I’M CLAMING IT. THIS DAY IS GOING TO BE PRODUCTIVE.

I started the day by drinking turmeric tea (it was good, you should try it too).

10:19 PM : I just finished making and answering my Vocabulary Builder Set #2 on quizlet. I took a test about it and was able to get 94% of the test right. In total, I learned 84 new english words today. Congratulations, self! way to go;;;

Study time: 1:58:54.23

Here’s a link to my Vocabulary Builder Set #2: CLICK ME :>

I took a nap after I ate brunch and guess what??? I woke up at 9pm HAHAHA I don’t know how that happened but one thing’s for sure: this quarantine has its ways in messing up one’s body clock.

Anyway, I ate my dinner and still decided to review. I was tempted to consider it as a rest day and watch a new kdrama series instead but I remembered how I want to pass CETs so bad… delay the gratification, self. Keep going;;;;

Total study time: 05:58:05.70

Okay??? I surprisingly enjoyed studying about oxidation and redox reactions. Am I really me?

Target: To finish studying Chemistry by April 11.

WRAP UP: vocabulary builder set #2, oxidation rules, calculating oxidation numbers, identifying oxidation and reduction reactions, identifying oxidized and reduced substance & oxidizing and reducing agent

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 11

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 11

April 5, 2020 – Day 11

175 DAYS TO GO BEFORE CETs SEASON!!

7 AM : I woke up early today!!! #Yehey HAHAHAHA my regular sleeping sched is slowly getting back to normal. Anyway, I’m going to take Reading Comprehension & Vocabulary tests to start off the day.

*Test update: I took 4 tests from 4 different applications and it did not went well. :< I really need to brush up my skills or else….. lowkey panicking atm. You can do it, self! Keep going;;;;;

To fill in the gaps of my vocabulary skills, I’ll read Filipino and English dictionaries every morning & use the words I learn everyday through using them in actual sentences (I hope this works). I need to read 7 pages from Merriam Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus and 3 pages from Bagong Diksiyunaryong Pilipino in order to read it whole for 175 days.

8 AM : I’ll start reading the dictionaries today,,, will use MS Word to type in the words I’ll be learning along with the sentences I’ll construct.

11 AM : Already ate my breakfast!! I’m currently learning new words from the English dictionary. So far, I have encountered twenty five new words and counting. To make sure that I really know what every word means, I search every word on Google (pictures help me to remember them). I’ll also utilize quizlet to create flashcardsβ€”this is to test whether or not I learned something with this strategy.

*Strategy update: It takes too long to use them all in writing sentences so I’ll just probably read them and transfer the words to quizlet. The target per day stays the same though.

Here’s a link to my Vocabulary Builder Set #1: CLICK ME :>

9:50 PM : I’m done reviewing chemical reactions,,, I now move on to reactions in aqueous solutions.

Total study time: 06:35:01.69

Songs that lifted up my mood today:

1. Panic! At the Disco – High Hopes

2. Ed Sheeran, Khalid – Beautiful People

3. Maximillian – Beautiful Scars

4. Zedd, Alessia Cara – Stay

5. Jonas Blue ft. JP Cooper- Perfect Strangers

6. Clean Bandit – Rather Be

7. SHAUN feat. Conor Maynard – Way Back Home

8. SZA x Calvin Harris – The Weekend

WRAP UP: Chemical equation, evidences of chemical reactions, basic types of chemical reactions, reactions in aqueous solutions, solubility rules, assigning oxidation numbers, and vocabulary builder set #1

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 10

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 10

April 4, 2020 – Day 10

Motivation for the day: Ikaw pa rin ang susi sa pinto ng iyong tadhana (Benjamin, 2020).

6:45 PM – I’ll start reviewing na. I just woke up from a nap so I feel a little lutang and weak pa pero I’m going to start anyway. I’m going to recall how to solve mole, gram, and atom conversion. I’m so glad I took notes,, I can’t understand the explanation about the conversion in the book I’m using.

Pro tip: Always have a pitcher of water beside you as you study. It’s important to stay hydrated while working your mind on some problems.

8:07 PM – Inorganic chemistry isn’t as hard as I thought it was. During our chem class, I was intimidated to even focus on it HAHAHHAA.πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚ I’m happy to say that I learned some tricks on how to calculate these conversions even without a calculator. Also, studying with music helps me to calm myself down. If only I’d known it earlier, my past months of studying would’ve been easier.

Pro tip #2: Have a snack to encourage you to continue studying (but don’t lie down afterwards! you might get sleepy πŸ˜‚).

9:02 PM – I’m done with mole to representative particles and vice versa. I answered a few sets of problems to make sure I understand them well. I also recalled the concept and the difference of molar mass and atomic mass unit and how to calculate them.

10:54 PM – Inorganic chemistry is full of calculations. Since I’m not using a calculator anymore, it’s harder for me to do all the problem sets given that they are of different topics. I decided to wrap it up for tonight. To maximize the time left for me to study, I’ll just recall the previous lessons I reviewed in Chem and take online vocabulary tests. :))

*Vocabulary tests update: OoOoOOoppPsss :<< I’m having a hard time smart guessing the meaning and choosing the best word that fits a sentence. I really need to widen up my vocabulary.

As I am writing this blog post, I just realized that I need to start reviewing Earth Science alongside Chemistry. Calculations all day (without a calculator) is exhausting. To balance things, I’ll add in Earth Science (terms & concepts are easier to understand than word problems).

The total study time for today is 5 hours and 2 minutes. Kudos, self!πŸ₯³πŸ₯°πŸ’βœ¨ You deserve a clap and of course, a good night rest.

WRAP UP: mole to representative particles, representative particles to mole, molar mass and atomic mass unit, element and compound (mole to mass, mass to mole, mole to representative particle, representative particle to mass, mass to atoms of a compound, molecules to atoms), percent composition from chemical formula, finding empirical formula, chemical formula from percent composition, and finding molecular formula

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 9

College Entrance Examination Review (CEER): Day 9

April 3, 2020 – Day 9

Motivation for the day: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.” β€” Aristotle

I started late for today’s review session (9:40 PM). I was too tired so I decided to take a short break. Anyway, I’m going to study GenChem1, compounds and Stoichiometry to be specific.

Before the actual review, I recalled the important points and formulas from the recent chem chapters I reviewed (those that are written in manila paper). It took me 30 minutes to recall (was hoping it would only take 10-15 minutes).

Timer starts again in 3, 2, 1…

11:21 PM: I’m done studying naming of compounds! πŸ₯°πŸ’ (the topic became easier after I self studied it. during our chem class, I didn’t pay attention to it that much because I was intimidated πŸ˜‚) #LessonLearned

12 AM: I already started with the basics of Stoichiometry,,,πŸ₯³ So glad I took notes of our chem class discussions. It’s kinda shocking that I can still remember how to solve these problems. Perks of being a STEM student, I guess? πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Study time: 01:49:14.48

I’m done for today’s review! It was a short session, but was substantial. My study time in total for today is 2 hours and 20 minutes. I hope I can make improvements in my time management tomorrow. I’ll try my best! ✊🏼

I tried studying with music today. I expected it to distract me in a way but surprisingly, it didn’t. Study vloggers on Youtube do it all the time so I decided to try it as well. Here’s a link to the playlist: CLICK ME! :>

I don’t know but I’ve been fond of watching ‘study with me’ as well as university vlogs on Youtube. It motivates me to study more and it gives me an insight as to what is waiting beyond me. YES, A LOT OF WORK. HARD WORK!πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚

I’ll take English tests on Zookal before I sleep. I used to be confident about the English part of CETs because it’s a subject I’ve always been good at. Now I’m questioning if I’m really good at it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My test scores ever since I started online tests on Zookal were either 13 or 14 over 20.πŸ˜† A brush up of skills are necessary HAHAHAA

WRAP UP: Ternary polyatomic ions, molecules, compounds: ionic and covalent, compound nomenclature, types of chemical formulas, fundamental (or elementary) particles, relative and average atomic mass, Avogadro’s number and mole concept

176 days to go before CETs season!! 😭 YOU CAN DO IT SELF,,,, super rAwRrRRr to that!!!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
